My favorite things about smart
It's DARLING and great on gas!
About Me
I'm 5'2" and Mark is 6'6" tall. We are forever trying to find a car we both like and we both fit in! We have a gas eating SUV and are so happy to both enjoy the idea of adding a teeny tiny car that will be a great relief when we pull into the gas station. It reminds me of the little Honda Coupe I had in 1972, my first car.
My smart's name
Unnamed until we see the shining red face, er hood... We ordered a red Cabriolet with black trim.

Test Driving Day - 6'6" Mark folded up and fit inside just fine!

Visiting the Relatives

Today I went to the Smart car dealership and looked at the cars again. We just cannot wait for ours to be delivered and it is hard to imagine waiting so long for a car. While there, I bought a tiny little replica of the real thing for $15 for my desk to remind us of the little hatchling that is under construction. Then I drove away in my fuel sucking SUV and headed straight to the gas station.

SmartyMarty,
Realizing it may be a year or more before you get your smart car you are still welcome to join our Central Florida Smart Car Group e-mail notification list and to participate in our meet and greets which would allow you to see a lot of smart cars and discuss experiences with a lot of owners.
While I try to post updates of our activities here on the web-site I maintain an e-mail notification list with more regular updates on club activities. The list currently includes 70 people or couples about 60 of which have cars now and 10 of which like you have reservations and await delivery.
If you would like to be on our e-mail list please e-mail me with your names, your e-mail address and the city in which you live and I will add you to the list. Currently we have members from The Villages in the North to Lake Wales in the South and from Daytona to Tampa. The majority of the members are in the greater Orlando area.
You can reach me by e-mail at kwagar@tampabay.rr.com.

Thanks,

Ken

6 months, 10,000 miles, and my first service

Called yesterday, got an appointment today no problems. $158.80 was the total 10K service, changed the A/C filter inside, took about 90 minutes. Best part: they practically detailed the car in the process. Looked showroom clean inside and out. Great experience (and free wi-fi too). Being someone who's regularly spends $30 for a 3K oil change, spending $158 seemed steep. But, probably about the same in the long run given the twice a year schedule (instead of 7 times a year). Many thanks to Kyl… Continue

Mike

Is it easier to get a good deal on an orphan car? or are they too still MSRP?

The car I ordered is pretty loaded but the total came to about $17,400 after tax & tags. Thats when I thought you can haggle them down in price a bit. $15,000, $16,000 TOPS is what i'm willing to pay, the options I had I like, if the orphan car is a different color, I can live with that.

Her name is Magnolia

Magnolia. It evokes memories of a southern summer day. Sitting in a shady spot outside, sipping sweet tea and the smell of magnolias in the air. Their beauty evoking visions of elegance and southern charm. So after much thought and personal debate, I decided to forgo the cutesy names. After driving her a few weeks the name Magnolia just fit her perfectly. Much like she picked her own name.
