Thanks Mike. I would like to see some of the points include areas to the north, west and south as we have members now in Calera, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa and Hsv. One thing that was talked about at the M & G was possibly making it a competition between Smarts and another group (Harleys?) to enhance the number participation or to open it up to others who are not currently driving a Smart, but still call it the Bama Smarties Run - what is your thoughts on this? We did have a new member who is 16 and his dad came with him. He has a Harley and would like to participate on the Harley - guess what you were to drive on the run would not really matter that much as long as the designated charity receives the money from "Bama Smarties". Also, Pam (from Smart Center) indicated that we could solicit the prizes from the Smart Center. Our next M & G is the 21st (starting out at AlaCare HQ) - do you think you could join us and present the run to the club? Thanks,
Mike, I do not know what you configured, But it dawned on me that I took an orphan that was so close to my original configuration and my original ordered car will be here towards the end of the month. I will be orphaning it and it is totally loaded Passion in Blue. Let me know if you would be interested in it so I can let you know when they call me when it arrives. Jeff
You can give Smart a call and try to move it. If not you can decline your car when Crown calls you. Smarts are fairly easy to get now without the long wait. We have orphans every week. Last week we got the Smart Brabus and the new rally red in. I really like the 2009 models, the minor changes are great.
Merry Christmas to you! Well we could put mine and your coal together and have a bonfire.
Surprisingly enough, I got a message about 2 weeks ago to configure the reservation I thought I gave up when I got the orphan. Just for the fun of it, I went ahead and configured the car - about a week later, I got a notice that "my" car would be here within 90 days. This may mean that yours will arrive a lot sooner than you had planned! Hope you and your are having a wonderful and safe holiday.
Only a couple of problems thus far - 1) the headlights are pointing down to much so I don't have but about 12 feet of visibility when driving at night and 2) the stability indicator came on this morning on the way to work. She is back down at the repair shop now and they are going to get these fixed today. Other than those two minor issues, she runs great and looks as good as new. I will post a new picture of her once the weather clears up. Thinking about posting it on the main forum as "What a SMART looks like after being hit by a SUV"!
