My key got washed in the laundry.  It wont open or lock the doors remotely, but it will still start the car.  You can lock it from the inside before you get out and unlock it via the little hidden keyhole on the driver side…

I suspect the passenger side impact was a factor.  If he had been hit on the driver side, the side airbag would have limited the movement of neck/head, but would have been too far away on the passenger side.

I decided to drive one tank as light-footed as possible, just to see how many mpg I could get. Unfortunately, it got really hot and I had to turn the a/c on, and of course that really drains the power in town. So, here I was, sloooooowly pulling away very snail-like and sluggishly coming up to cruising speed.

A story about the smart appeared all over the country today. In my paper the headline was "Micro cars can mean major repair bills, study says." The picture accompanying the article is a smart4two.

I put this in forums but it didn't get much notice. I thought it was significant enough to repeat here.



I read on MSN Money that the smart4two defies conventional wisdom by being one of the cheapest cars in America to insure. According to MSNM you might think that because of its size the smart would be regularly totalled in acidents, but in fact collision claims are low (as we already knew from first hand accounts at www.safeandsmart.com).

Can't Get It Up

I like to look at my engine every now and then. Not that I would be able to do anything to it, I just like to know it's still there.



First, though, you have to find it. I got out the manual to find out how to get to it, and of course it had the usual photographs with indistinguishable details. I tried to follow the written instructions, just imagining what the photos would have looked like if they had been big enough to see. I didn't get very far.

Over on msn.com there is a post asking people to name the worst cars in the last 25 years. The Smart is getting trashed unfairly. I'm defending the little guy, but I could use some help. Let's gang up on them.

Hey,
it has been a long time since I have checked my messages (obviously), but I just did and wanted to respond so you didn't think I dropped off the face of earth. It IS a terrible nightmare and while time is supposed to heal it really doesn't. If anything "you get used to it", but it still hurts and you still "think" about her EVERY day. And tht is good. That is the way it should be. However, it doesn't make it easier.

I am glad you went in and kissed her. As much as we sometimes think they are going to drive us nuts they are still very precious. We are born to die at some point so there is absolutely truth in the old adage to live each day as it may be your last -- because it may. Cancer is a horrible disease and unfortunately we all too many with it.
So just keep loving, kissing and telling each other you care and hope it goes on a LONG time.

Enough "doom and gloom". While this hasn't been the best summer (weather has made it short and business has made it long) I DID meet someone that I have enjoyed her company with ove the last 2 months. A soft shoulder REALLY helps and it makes the next day easier. Hope the gang is planning something for this fall and I will join in. If you hear of anything keep me posted. Thanks.
