It seems like I've been waiting a lifetime for my Smart. I've never been very patient. My estimated delivery date has changed several times. Hope we both have our Smarts soon.

Congrats on your new Cabrio. Have you been happy with it so far? Any problems, concerns, disappointments? I will continue anxiously waiting for my Smart......

Your smart sounds really nice. It's very tempting. But for now I will try to wait on the smart I designed. I appreciate your answers to my questions. The more I hear and read about smart cars, the more I want one.
Have a good weekend!

My name is Nicholas.. I live in Orlando.. I HAVE a [metallic] Silver and Black Smart Passion with Red interior... And Im selling it, if youre interested..
Dont worry, its not because I dont like it.. I LOVE it.. I've driven it 9000 miles, given it the regular care it needs, parked it in a garage, and adored it. ONE time ever I wished it carried three people, but what we did was drop the tailgate, keep the back window down and had the third guy sit against the seats with his legs hanging out the back.. (Probably illegal, but surprisingly roomy back there in that configuration!!).. As a passenger, the feeling of the gears is no different from any manual transmission car, which is all the smart is, its just that its so dang smart that its doing the clutching for you.. You barely notice it after even a couple of days, if you drive your car every day. I've driven mine to North carolina, and never got sore in the seat.. The only concern would be that theres no cruise control.
Anyhow, I am a massage therapist.. And I've just been offered a position on a cruise boat to be a lead massage therapist for a 9 month long contract! I figure that by the time I get back, I'll be able to pretty much buy a new one with cash and not have to make payments on something that im not using, you know?
SO.. If you live in Florida, and want to skip that list - I'll sell you mine for what I owe! Which is $15,000..

Responce to your questions, by e-mail.... since I can't find the blog spot..
>>I don't carry a spare tire.... where? dude, it a SMART. ha ha ha ha
>>I never wish my Smart had seating for more than two... Mine rarely ever has a 2nd passenger.....
>> The tranny is a sequential 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 shift. You get used too it, but the weird-ness is when you go back to driving other stuff-- ha ha ha seriously, I played with the paddle-shifter... like I did with the rentals I drive in EU, years ago. when it was a new toy, you will too, but I don't any more. I'll paddle shift the Ferrari, but the effect is pointless in the SMART... and gas mileage WILL suffer. You'll want to play with it too, for a while, because it's fun, but everyone stops.
> Long trips... Oh man, I am SO going to get my money's worth out of the extended warranty. I put 40k/year on a car and this one will be no different. I'm already looking at pre-ordering a 2010, so it arrives as I get to 80k-90k-100k on the first one.
>Long road trips.... always. I run back and forth Tampa to ORL and back 1-a- week minimum [I'll be over there tomorrow, as I write this] I regularly drive Tampa-Atlanta-back.... at 85mph. I will tell you that running 90mph/@3500 rpm will drop gas mileage down to 36-38mpg.... about what I get around town. I can live with it !!! ha ha ha I did an "economy run" during the cold overnight air in Dec-08. On the flats of I-75 in N-Fla, @ steady 63mpg, I got 48.5 mpg
> things I don't like--- sun shade on my coupe takes up two inches of headroom, if closed. I'm 6-8. It's never closed. Car alarm is too easily set off w/ panic button, as you walk away, stuffing keys in your pocket. Bigger glovebox would be nice. I got great service early @ the M-B dealer, because they all wanted to see my toy.... now they have a lot in que and I'm not as "1st priority"... I thought they loved me, for my sparkling personality.... but NO--- just like the pretty girls waving. They don't want "me", they just want a ride... in the car, preferable if I hand them the keys. I'm emotionally crushed. hee hee hee
