Was wondering, we have an 08, could dirty battery cables cause the engine to hesitate? Today my fiance had to stop at a red light, and the car didn't want to go. He backed up a bit and then it was…Continue
"Nancy... The MB dealerships in FL use the same Mobile 1 synthetic that you can buy at the local autoparts store. Sounds like the dealer is taking advantage of you. I'd defiantly check the air filter (again, get one on amazon... they…"
"Also found out, that the oil on the market doesn't hold up to the high heat these engines are under. That's why we got the oil from Mercedes. Our mechanic was going to use regular hi performance oil, but found that out when he called the…"
"It's around 37,000 miles, and I believe when we did oil, he changed all but plugs. We only use hi test, I forgot once when we 1st got it and used regular, my fiance blew up!! I don't know about the air filter, and nope, no codes. We did…"
"Hard to diagnose on the Internet. How many miles on the car? Has it had a new set of plugs (every 30K miles)? Possible bad batch of gas (stick with 91 octane Top Tier brands.) New air filter? Any OBD codes?"
Typically, we do not expect corrosion on the battery terminals to cause hesitation. Corrosion can cause slow cranking, flickering of lighting, or other charging issues.

"It says nothing about being in drive, stopping and not being able to go forward again. Like I said, he had to reverse, then put it back in drive and it was ok. The car is an automatic, so shifting and the clutch or grinding gears isn't an…"
"Ok, that's what our mechanic found when doing his research for the car. He also had the manual I printed out to go by. But he couldn't get that wrench to turn off either! I did!! Ha and I am by NO means a mechanic!1 He's not a…"
"We love our little car! Got it cause when we go camping, it fits in the trailer with our bikes perfectly! So if it rains we're not stuck! Didn't know when we got it though that oil had to come from Mercedes!! Oh well! Ya can't take it…"
Was wondering, we have an 08, could dirty battery cables cause the engine to hesitate? Today my fiance had to stop at a red light, and the car didn't want to go. He backed up a bit and then it was ok. Being an 08 it's possible the battery terminals are getting corroded a bit. Just wondering if it was possible and if others were experiencing the same thing? Thanks, NancySee More
