People Stare

As smart owners you see the stares, you feel the stares, they are there constantly. Some stare out of disbelief, some out of curiosity, some to mock, and some are angry (how dare you drive that on the Highway). It’s a way of life for now. I say now because as gas prices start creeping up and eventually top the $5 mark (Obama wants it at least at $5) then people will be staring for other reasons.

Have been driving now for 2 weeks, have about 500 miles on it. Fits nicely in our "3rd area" garage. That space was useless, could not get any car in there, now I have my smartie, by scooter, my snowblower, my lawnmower, two bikes and Hockey gear. Still have room to spare. Getting around 42MPG. Think as you drive you get better at the rythm and your mileage goes up.

Not a problem, I travel a lot and probably should be checking the site more than I do. There is probably somone who is more deserving that needed more than I do right now. Funny, we put in for a Yellow/black combo. Well enjoying my scooter for now, starting to get cold, but love it anyway.

SHoot! I didn't hear from you and I told the dealership Saturday to go ahead and refund my money and sell it as an orphan to someone. They gave me three weeks to purchase, but I couldn't seem to drum up any buyers, not that I worked that hard. Hopefully you will get one soon. Sorry Richard, Hutch

Hi Richard. I live in the springs and have a Smart I bought an "orphan" April 1st. Mine is Red/Black stripe. Anyway, I got the orphan as I am a reservation holder and the one I ordered came in Wednesday 8/21!!! If my daughter doesn't want it, I can buy it and sell to you. It is a yellow/black with heated seats, fog lamps, upgrade stereo, power steering Passion model. Let me know if you have interest. Hutch

Name sounds familiar. Maybe he was at Peterson. I was in Cheyenne Mountain. I have seen maybe 2 Smartcars tooling around down here. We are buing a People Scooter to bridge the gap until we get "the car".
