That little bird is way behind the times - smart USA extended the warranty on remaining 2011 models and all 2012 models now come with the standard M-B USA 4years/50K miles warranty. I'm sure they will consider retroactively extending that…

Too bad they won't extend the warranty period on the 08-11 model years to 4 year 50k.

4 year, 50,000 mile factory warranty

A little birdie told me that Mercedes will soon give new Smarts  their standard 4 year, 50,000 mile warranty...This is only possible because the Smart is a sturdy car and greedy Roger Penske is no longer the importer...This will negate the need for and expense of an aftermarket extended warranty...See More

I just had my 20,000 routine maintenance done at my Roger Penske Mercedes based Smart dealership in Chandler , AZ...$448.80 seems a little steep for a glorified oil change, especially using the cheaper substitute 5W40 synthetic motor…

When it becomes widely known that the Smart is designed and sold by Mercedes, has the lowest five year cost of ownership of all cars, and the best real world gas mileage of any non-hybrid car, even Consumers Reports will take a fresh look at…

Actually Subaru had the BRAT (which stood for Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter) which was a two seater vehicle like the Chevrolet El Camino.  I know of someone who still owns one, and uses it to transport stuff all the time. …

Subaru, also, had a small pickup, called the Brat. Was, for the most part, useless, when it couldn't haul any more than the enclosed station wagons, and couldn't seat as many as a station wagon.  I do not believe this will find much…

If recession and unemployment continue (and the way Gov't keeps spending, that is a near-certainty), large and/or expensive vehicles will lose their luster in the US, and smaller, more efficient (and, I would hope, less-expensive to operate)…

Don't forget the earth getting hit by an asteroid or the alien invasion scenarios - they'll definitely drive up gas prices. :D

Micro cars have been "exploding" in Europe since about the the time of the Austin A40 and the original Fiat 500. It's great that the Europeans have supported that class of car over the years and continue to refine it by introducing…

For those of you who remember the Crosley, they had a coupe, a cabriolet, a station wagon, a pick-up, and the Hotshot sort of sports car.

That's what my mother in law said when she first saw the car. Looked like it belonged in a circus. So hence the clown outfit when I first took her for a ride. I showed up and took her to church dressed like a circus clown. Loved every minute of it too.
Thanks
