Smart in dealer shop for 8 weeks and counting
We had a warning light on the dash back in February, took the car in to the dealer, took them a week to try to figure out the problem, which they did not (we have 23,000 comuter miles on the car). They had a code for a bad fuel injector on #2 cylinder, so they switched the #2 injector with the #1 injector, light went out, we picked up the car. Several weeks later the light was on again (March 12). After 3 weeks of " we don't know what is wrong", Smart USA told them to remove the head. A week later thay had the head off, burnt valve and valve seat on #2 cylinder and the same starting on #1 cylinder. Took a week to get the head from Smart USA and another two weeks to put the car back together (engine was taken out of the car). I was told a week ago on Friday the car was ready, just needed oil added to the engine, can pick up the car on Monday. No call from dealer on Monday, find out on Wednesday the car was taken for a test drive and it was leaking oil, they had to remove the motor again, fix the leak and put it back together, I can pick up the car on Thursday. No call from dealer until Friday afternoon, your car is ready, you can pick it up on Saturday. I get another call 10 minutes later, 'uh, we were going to wash your car for you and when we started it up, a warning light came on, the Smart techician is off today, so we cannot look into the problem until Monday".
