Thanks for organizing the meet last night at Brother's Barb BQ I was talking to BJ about the problem/solution to the experience of a beeping sound emmitting upon turning off the key. I have accidently misplaced the email from Paul at Smart Car/Denver so have written and asked him to send it to me again. I will share it with this site when receivved.Bill SimpsonSee More
We will meet on every second Wednesday of the month going forward, but we will make an exception in October and meet on the 3rd Wednesday for smart conversations and smart sightings with fellow smart owners
Another Smart defector. I went with the Scion IQ after four years in the Smart and what a difference! You're right about potholes and the Smart. I had to duct tape the plastic shield under the front end after it came adrift and started dragging. Thankfully, when I traded it in they didn't put it on a rack. Surprise, surprise!
I wish Smart much success but unless they come up with another transmission, the car will be doomed to failure. As a car, it's just too marginal. Maybe a fun second car, but not much else.
The Fiat looked so good to me but I'm old enough to remember Fiat from before and that gave me pause. And it lost a little of its appeal when I found out they put them together in Mexico, not Italy. How do you say "Ciao Baby" in Spanish?
But I also know that your Fiat could probably run rings around my IQ (well, maybe not with my turning circle) and they are commited to succeeding in the American market. That's cool.
Enjoy your new baby. I hope that Smart will be a fond memory.
