If it's just the wheels, they should run around $130 apiece from the dealer. I'd call some other dealers - that price is way out of line.

All valid points but the current model 451 smart is a done deal from the M-B perspective. The 2011 car is set in stone (with some nice improvements) and the design of its replacement, the smart/Renault small car due in a couple of years, is probably…

Good idea. If your paper has an auto section contact the editor. Same with the local TV stations. If there hasn't been any coverage up to now they should be interested. That approach worked here in Dayton, OH.

Not exactly a story, but Jimmy Fallon opened last night's Emmy broadcast by arriving in a blue smart. Good to see that on national TV.

More info here: http://www.smartcarofamerica.com/forums/f22/port-au-prince-earth-quake-28990/

See if your credit card company has waived their fees for these relief donations; if not, consider using another card or some other method to donate. Thanks!

Headlight and foglight protection

Saw a post about cracked foglight and the search for some sort of protection. Check out Headlight Armor: http://www.headlightarmor.com/smart-lighting-kits.aspx

Protect all your lights for $50. Had them on two smarts now, great insurance.

John, I've got the factory sizes front and rear. I kind of backed into it. I ordered the first tire wheel/combo to use as a spare the week I got the car. (later just bought the other three). At the time the dealer was trying to find me a Brabus. Within 3 weeks of delivery, they found one, but wanted to give $3,500 less than I paid for it 150 miles and 6 coats of wax earlier. I've spent over $3K on it, and it's still not a Brabus. But I love it anyway....Frank

Jwight, I saw your post on the You Tube video of the "Tail of the Dragon" run last September. That's my red Cabrio that the cameraman is following. What a thrill it is to see! To you or whoever took the video, I owe you a drink......Frank

Thanks for all of the help you have given to me over the months. The Denso iridiums SXU22HDR8 is for long life, and the IXUH22 is for performance, power and economy. I will probably go with the long life. I found the 1157 bulb worked for my right rear turn signal. Bill in K.C.

Thanks, for the reply on this. I heard from another member that tried to post some more onto your list and found it gone. And thought that susai was again, deleting the mention of spam. I noticed last night that we picked up five more. smartUSA is trying to do this Monday thru Friday- 9 to 5, it looks like we will continue to have to put up with spam for days on end unless they decide to add member mods.

Of course, I still have not received a reply from anyone at smart. ( someone said they are very busy with the car show)

John: Thanks for the plug info. I notice that the OEM spark plug number is similar at XU22HDR9 as opposed to the IXUH22 iridium. Bill in K.C.

John: Was wondering what your take is on the iridium spark plugs. I am interested, but don't know where to get the brands and part numbers. Didn't learn much in here for all of the insults being hurled around, and couldn't find anything in SCOA Forums. I see where someone listed an NGK number, but there was no confirmation that it was compatible with Smart. I think the Denzo number was factory equipment. Bill in K.C.
