My understanding is that 65% of Smart production is the mid level Passion model.  If true, that means that the other 35% of production would be split between the Cabriolet and the Pure.   Hope that helps.

Still love mine after 2+ years and 20,000 miles!  Includes trips from Chicago to Arizona, Minnesota, Michigan & New York.  Yes, I've replaced a windshield (rock hit it) and a back bumper (car hit it) and headlight bulbs (seems to…

kurlee - I have owned my Smart only 6 months.  Buying it used with only 2,700 miles on the clock and under 6,000 miles now, I am learning something new about my Cabriolet nearly every week.   I recently learned that my car has rain…

Christy reported that her Smart had 32,000 miles on the clock.   The factory warranty expires at 24,000.  Perhaps MB or Smart has some goodwill money tucked away where they could help out since the head went bad at only 8,000 miles…

The Pure is great.  I have a 2009.  Test drove a Passion, and ended up with one as a loaner for a few days.  Power windows don't impress me.  And the power steering was pointless.  Basic is the way to go.  Less…

Hey thanks, I hadn't heard of a Pure Plus.  Since the sun blazes 300+ days a year I thought the solid roof would be a lot cooler.  Also, the car is so light I figured the power steering would be unnecessary.  Thanks

My favorite things about smart
Looks like a concept car. Unusual and innovative.
About Me
I've owned a couple of bugs then a couple of mustangs and now I'm ready to get smart (white w/silver trid). I'm also a huge "Eureka" fan. Love seeing the 450s around the town but still waiting for the first 451 to show up on the show.

I'm addicted to this site!

(standing) Hi, my name's kurlee and I'm addicted to smartusainsider.com. Every time I turn on my computer this the first place I go. I know I'm not the only one because I see many of the same people responding to questions/comments. I have a long time to go before I get my car and I am in need of your support. : ) I love seeing all the photos from the group meets and just from around town. I haven't been a part of such a cult-like group of followers since my bug days in the '80s and '90s with… Continue

Open Your Mind

Posted on September 7, 2008 at 2:58pm 8 Comments

I can't believe how hard it is for some people to "Open Your Mind". Last month I went to do my test drive and put in my reservation. The following day at work I taped a picture of one, that I cut out of a magazine, on my locker. I couldn't believe the reaction from my co-workers. Most asked the same questions you've all heard (what is it, mileage, safety, etc.) but one person in particular had a really strong reaction. She said "I can't believe you did that. You'll get killed in that thing",… Continue

Hi Kurlee,
Good to hear from you.
We are so in love with this little car. You can just get addicted to it. Really a lot of fun to drive. Has a lot more pep that I was expecting. I drive a 2006 Toyota Avalon now and it moves, This little guy wants to go also. I have found that cruising around 45-50 mph the car does the best. Very smooth at that speed. Just hope that a cop is not watching me around town Ha! Got gas for the 1st time today and it looks like we are getting around 38 on the 1st. half tank, in town with the air on. I am not complaining about that at all. The only problem I can see is it might cause accidents with people backing up at stop lights,or cruising along side of you all to get a better look. We get a lot of smiles and thumbs up signs.
Really a lot of fun. I hope that you get to enjoy this car sooner rather than later.
Keep in touch, Nancy & Gary
p.s. my DDE is changing like crazy now.

Kurlee, You might be right on smart messing with me. My husband says that I can't check the DDE any more because everytime I do something is differant. Ha!
I guess I will just stay on this sight and he can check the other things. Later, Nancy

Three things...
1. If you like all things smart, check out my website located here. You might see something you like!

2. Eureka rocks! I thought I was the only one who noticed the 450's in the street.

2. I was born and raised in Phoenix. Went to North High School back in the day. Where you from??

I am also addicted to this web page. I keep telling myself that I won't get on it today but then for some reason I do. I think that reading all about the cars and what people are doing with them is great. Seems to be a lot of nice fun people on here also. I know that when I get my car I will be on here just as much. It does help with the wait to have some place to go to that loves the cars so much. The pictures are great to see.
Still waiting in Vegas. Nancy & Gary

Go to your dealer and sit in the car or just look at them. Makes the wait a little better. We really enjoyed our car visit yesterday.
