"I have the 2016 Fortwo and do about 100mi a day commute. Its about 70/30 Highway/City travel, but consistently get over 40mpg on the free way, and around 35 city. In Atlanta, there the traffic is horrid. My fortwo is plagued by the fuel gauge issue,…"

"While you DO have to fill up more often... It doesn't bother me that much.  In the Dodge Dart i had prior to trading it in for my 453, i think i usually got about 400-450 miles on a tank.  Get nearly 250 miles on a fill-up of the…"

Edition 1

"Congratulations, I have not seen an Edition 1 in Maine, but the white/orange look is terrific and I'm sure the sport package kicked up the driving experience.  I wish they offered this package with the manual 5-speed, perhaps in the future?"

"The fuel tank in my 2016 453 Passion is not smaller than was in my 2008 or 2013, in fact it is larger."

"There is still some confusion as to fuel tank capacity for the new 453. So far, owner's are reporting similar fuel economy ratings and distance traveled between fill-ups as being similar to outgoing 451 model. I would suggest you test drive the…"

"A few years ago an SCoA member pulled a 451 tank and filled it with water - it held a total of 10 gallons, of which the 8.7 gallons appear to be usable.  The fuel pump is mounted in the tank and needs to be submerged in fuel for cooling (my…"

I for one appreciate his vision that helped lead to where we are today with the type 451.

Hi Mainefortwo!

How are you? Cute smart...

anyways my name is natty and I've been trying to find more participants from the New England area to take my Smart Car owner survey. This is for a marketing strategy plan that I have to do for one of my classes at Fordham University. It'll only take a few minutes and my group and I would really love to hear from you. :)

Just copy and paste this link onto your browser.

Thanks so much!

hey you, mainefortwo-
I was raised in Monmouth, ME, but not before living in Cape Neddick and going to school at York Elementary and Middle Schools. Check out my page...I have a very similar photo posted. Did you have to get your smart in Boston, and do you live in Cape Neddick? My dad used to work summers in York Beach pulling taffy at the Goldenrod.

Hi Steve,

I named my passion coupe "Karl" in honor of Karl Benz, who is not only credited with inventing the automobile, but started the company that now includes manufacture of the smart fortwo.

Love your photo. Also love lobster which would be a good name for a red Smart. Have you named your Smart? Our's are "Blood Shot" & "Ground Hog".
