smart insider USA will soon be only a ghost town filled with SPAM and and other unappealing information posted by foreign internet peddlers with no connection with the smart fortwo. With the continued "improvments" by those operating this social network, more people who came and joined because of their ownership or interest in the smart fortwo in the USA, will be driven to alternate web forums. I invite everyone to seek true social networking opportunities on a very well run and interesting web…

It's official. The people at smartUSA and the 'Adminstration' of susai have absolutely no clue as to what a social website is for and no concept of the value of member content, true human communication with members (11,063 of them) and why we joined this site. Every time they say were going to improve the site they remove or break features or needlessly fix things that are not broken. The value of this site for me is almost zero. WE HAVE ALL SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS TO CREATE AND ADD CONTENT TO THI…

I'd had LittleTow for more than a year, scooting up, down and around the Ozarks. I loved the little Smart car that didn't seem to know the difference between a hilly road and a flat one. In the back of my mind, though, I wondered how those three cylinders would handle a truly steep hill or a real mountain road.
Last September I attended an RV rally in Colorado Springs and, when I looked up, I saw the hill meant to test my little Smartie. They called it Pike's Peak.

Has anyone encountered a problem with the trans. @ low speeds (5 to 15 mph) i.e. it seem's to get confused where it should be, 1st or 2nd. Seem's that when it shifts up to 2nd and decides it needs to be back in 1st and trys to downshift it gets locked up in 2nd. Will shift up but never again into 1st. I flat tow my Smart with my RV and have a battery cut off switch installed and the only way I can get 1st gear back is to turn off the battery and re-boot the computer. I'm just worried that there…

Is there any possibility of adding a power stirring motor to a Passion coupe as an aftermarket. All the time I read it has to be purchased as a factory installed untit only. Is it that difficult to install it? Have any of you friends installed one already. Pls let me know your experience first hand. TKS!!!

Anyone buy and install those new stiffer motor mounts in their car yet? Any feedback or thoughts? I worry that the lack of movement in the strut will transfer vibration from the engine into the cabin, or put stress on the axels that might cause premature wear. Motor mounts are suppose to flex. I understand the theory. Porsche is working on a fluid motor mount that is regulated by throttle and power demand to do the same thing. I wish it weren't so expensive either. $130 is a bit much.

Does anyone know of any nice-looking bike racks for '09 for two passion? I do not like the one the dealer sells at all. It doesn't look like any of the standard strap-on kinds will work for a smart.

Hey all smart drivers. Thought you might get a kick out of the fact that this week I jump started a Prius with my smart. It's the second time I jumped a car with the smart. Didn't have time to take a photo, my girlfriend was freezing and we had to get going.

It was a dark and foggy night. I just got in my car to go home from my sister-in-law's house. Two stop signs away, there was an open field where the high powered electrical lines ran through the neighborhood; the fog seemed thicker than pea soup on a frozen lake there. From that second stop sign, it couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 houses to reach the field but I managed to get the car up to a cool 30 mph.
Out of the corner of my eye, a flash of white fur comes dashing out o

the other day while driving on the fdr north in nyc i hit a pot hole so hard that drove the easy pass off the windshield to the floor. i could not believe that my smart kept going but it did. by the time i got home i had forgotten about what happened, till the next day my air pressure gauge was lit. i pulled over and saw my left front and rear rims were trashed. now i'm not a fan of extended warranties, however when i purchased my smart i did yet the rim and tire warranty. brought the car which…

I love my Scangauge. It did not include installation instructions so I used my imagination and came up with what I believe is a simple, inexpensive and safe install method. If you are interested just let me know and I will get back to you.

We will be installing a Blue Ox towing system and the blue ox Patriot braking system. If I use a battery disconnect per the manual then I would need to install another 12volt outlet and have it connected directly to the battery so I can plug in the brake system.Any suggestions and/or feedback would be appreciated. THANKS
