My wife lost the only key for her 08 . Smart Center says it will cost about $1300.00 plus to re-key it. And I will have to haul it to them, about 350 miles one way ! Has anyone had this problem?  I bought my smart Car on March 9th ,2011. It was a 2010 leftover.  I love the car very much. The problem is that I paid for a pre-paid maintenance plan that provides six years/60,00 miles of free oil changes, filters etc. It is not a bad deal except that the dealer I bought the car from is no longer selling or servicing Smart cars.  There are no dealerships anywhere near me & all I want is a refund of the pre-paid maintenance charges of $1,195.00.
