The 2008-2009 ski season was the best ever and our SMART Car did great getting us to and from the trail head! Snow tires were probably a good idea and the esp® (electronic stability) is an awesome feature that keeps the SMART Car going in the right direction. We started xc skiing on Nov. 17th and had skiable snow in Leelanau County until April 24th.
Last Friday my son and I skied Friday after school and it was 70 degrees. When my… Continue

The first thousand miles has gone very smoothly in my smart. It's still a lot of fun to drive and I've had no problems to report.
Everywhere I go the smart gets a lot of attention. I met my daughter at Firestone yesterday to get a tire on her car replaced. All of the guys from the shop came out to see the smart. They even asked to see the engine. One of them knew it was made by Mercedes and had a safety cage "like NASCAR." They all seemed to like it but said it… Continue

Well its been 10 months now, and I STILL Love my car!
Im so comfortable driving it that I dont realize that people still stare and Im oblivious to it..I went thru over 100 brochures that I handed out.
When folks say "oh, but its so small"..I say..So how did you like riding in the MG or Miata??
The stereo bumps!
Mileage could be a tad better, but filling up once a month is a definite plus..
Especially at 2.39 a gallon!
Get SMART people :-)

We just got back from the first LONG trip in our little smart , 1,551 miles, and used 38 1/2 gallons of gas.
Started out from northern Lousiana, crossed the mighty Mississippi river and traveled on the "Blues" Highway 61, through Mississippi, until we got to Memphis, TN. First encounter with heavy traffic the smart did great we had the GPS and the way was mapped out for us to travel the interstates. Trip continuted on to the Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky, a beautiful area, with… Continue

After a year of waiting.... i finally got my Smart.... and a Brabus to boot. And no, not an orphan... the one i actually ordered. SOOOOO much fun to drive, and everyone at Smart Center Devon thought it was nice.... as well as the pinstriping, which you can see in my pictures in the photo's section. Didn't even get it home, stopped at a gas station, and already had someone saying "nice car".
Only sad thing is i have to take a trip back to the dealer tomorrow. Don't know how nobody… Continue

NUMBER 5; he refers to the car as 'she'
NUMBER 4; he is up past midnite washing and waxing 'her'
NUMBER 3; he gets that 'sexy' look when you call the car by 'her' name
NUMBER 2; he refers to the car and you as 'his girls'
NUMBER 1; he gets you up for a SMART drive at the crack of dawn because he hasn't been able to sleep all night in excitement for the drive, and makes you leave an hour early, when it only takes 10 minutes to get where you are meeting… Continue

JUST A QUICK LESSON FOR ANYONE THAT THINKS THEY SHOULDN'T SLOW DOWN FOR SPEED BUMPS;
definitely, if you own a SMART slow down for speed bumps, especially when your loving wife is sitting beside you as a passenger and has no idea you are about to hit it.
reason being, she will yell at you, cuss you and wanna hit you after you do it, and your excitement of owning a SMART will not be enough for her to cut you some slack!

Hi I own a 2008 Smart Car. I thank the seat back control knobs were put on the wrong side ,they are on inside of the seat, should be on the outside . The way I see at this ,you could just switch the seats ,right to left ,that way the knobs would then be on the outside ,not on the inside. You would also have to change the seat belts around ,but looks easy . Any advise on this ? Thanks Ed
Thanks for all the advice. Guess my idea will not work. Not a big thing, guess I will just have to… Continue

I was leaving work today and this lady decided to take a left hand turn and cross traffic to go into my work, right in front of me and I hit her. I was doing about 15mph. I am not hurt and I have to say the Smart did very good in this accident. I feel so safe in that car. I am so mad, I am going to be probably a month without my Smart Car. This wasn't my fault because she cut me off taking a left hand turn but I still have to wait for the insurance company to still decide. I can't wait to get… Continue

For anyone who's button's come off the key fob, don't expect it to be covered by warranty. You'll need to plop down $160.00 to replace the "defective" part. I called some other dealers from other brands who all said that is something that "would" be covered if I owned one of their products. Also, if you ever spill liquid on the on the leather seats, be sure to wipe it off immediately. The leather in these cars can not handle it. As a result it hardens and develops a rough surface. This is… Continue

I got this picture from Mrs. Incredible today. She was in Detroit and saw this "little car" out in back of a house. It made me cry. It could be one of my relatives. It looks so much like me... but my A-pillars are black. I wonder if it is going to that motor pool in the sky?
I did get some good news from my momma today. Thursday is "Take Your Daughter To Work Day" and momma is taking me to her work. I am soooo excited to go. She said… Continue

Could someone share information on seats? I don't like my seats and would like something different. Also, what are your thoughts regarding the add-on cruise control?
