I have a reservation for a Passion Coupe pending 14 mths out. The Dealership got an orphan Pure Coupe in and we purchased it. My question is about the seats the drivers seat doesn't go back as far as the passenger seat and I really need the extra leg room. There is about two inches more that the seat could move back and I don't know why it wasn't used. It seems both seat should go back until they touch the motor inclosure shelf.

A quick note to say that we (Kathy & Dick) had the privilege of visiting the smart fortwo factory on 5 September 2008. We were in France on business and vacation, and took the chance of stopping by the smart Center at Hambach to see if we could get a tour on the spur of the moment. We were told that it was not possible without a reservation, however, a tour presented in French was just beginning and were invited to tag along. The guide did speak English, so we were able to ask for a few… Continue

Well I got my smart car. Which I love by the way. But then 80 miles later a rock hit my flippin front window and left a chip in my window. Now I have to wait for my insurance company to get a claim number. I can't have anything nice for 12 hours? ARG I am so mad right now. while I wait the chip is going to become a crack. Stupid insurance company!!!!

My smart has been averaging 41 to 45 mpg since I got it in August. Not that it is all that important to me anymore, I am totally sold on my smart for a multitude of reasons. I am now about to hit 3,000 miles, and the price of gas is starting to come down. From the beginning I have been filling it with 91 Octane, which is the highest our local Speedway stations carry.
Lately, a Sunoco station next to the office complex where I work has been posting much lower gas prices than the ones… Continue

At 3,900 miles we have had our first failure with Buzz tonight. I have noticed the past few days that the shifter was getting harder to move and rather than taking a few mins to fix the problem, I just kept driving it. It finally locked in park and no amount of effort could get it out. I called Smart Roadside Assistance and after 15 mins they said to turn the shifter stalk 1/4 turn counter clockwise and pop the head off. Easier said than done. I had to get a pair of vise grips to turn it and at… Continue

Filled up the tank for the first time last night. 7.98 gallons after driving 327.2 miles == 41.00 MPG. Not too shabby as the car and I get used to each other. Much improved over the approximately 17 MPG I had been getting in my Dakota pickup.
