Just got a card in the mail today from QVC. They are having a 12 Days of Christmas Sweepstakes starting December 1st. They have 12 smart fortwos to give away.
There's nothing on their website about it yet. The card says stay tuned to QVC for details on how you can win a smart fortwo.
It concludes, "Imagine a smart fortwo under your tree — it may just fit." Nice.

Can anyone tell me how "The Chrome Package" and "Fog Light Rings" (sold by the dealer) fasten to the Smart Car? Is it something I can do myself?

On Black Friday I was at the mall looking for parking spot, I drove past 2 police officers waiting for a tow truck to tow a SUV that was parked illegally. Both officers were looking at my car, after I parked my car I walk past the officers. Out of curiosity, one of the police officer asked me "How fast have you driven in that car?". I gave him a funny expression, thinking how I can answer that "question". Then he realized why I gave him that look, them both of them laughed. He ensure me it just… Continue

Here goes ...
I like my car but this is getting ridiculous..
The Transmission needs to be replaced and Smart/MB just told me
that they don't provide a loaner car at all..they said it is not part of warranty.....plus the "repair" could take one or more than one day.....accordingly to Smart North Houston.
I don't know what to do now. I was really excited waiting for the car..but now I am very dissapointed after finding out a different failures with the car...
It shouldn't… Continue

I am fed up with Smart. I was in a bad accident with my car and they fixed everything they could. I had a huge list of issues after I got my car back. I then addressed these issues to the Fairfield Collision Center. They said that they would fix the issues. I did not notice a thing changed to fix my car besides a dent in the roof rail. I am very disappointed and am starting to hate Smart now. I was probably the most dedicated Smart car owner of all time too and if you beg to disagree, you have… Continue

Like most Smart drivers posting on this site, I’m loving my car. While fuel economy was a major motivation behind its purchase, I have to admit that lower fuel prices have allowed me to rationalize that it’s okay to “drive it like I stole it.” So instead of easing my way around town, I’m having a blast with the paddle shifters and tachometer... winding out each gear and leaving surprised SUV drivers behind. The stereo is fantastic and the ride is better than expected. Until this week, the big… Continue

Sorry to say our Smart Car is FOR SALE! We love it.....However it was not a SMART (smiles) move. As our primarily use is as a tow car behind an RV. When we visit or travel with a grand child or friends, it presents a problem due to the size. It is a great tow car otherwise. It towes with 4 on the ground, it's light weight makes it easier to tow which also reduces gas consumption on the RV.

I have been curious about the smartcar ever since I first discovered them in Europe five years ago. I became seriously interested in them once I discovered that they were cleared for sales in the US. During my "reservation" waiting period, I began to read some the Blogs regarding the smartcar. I might add for those on the waiting list, that I cut that time really short by calling the dealer to find out that they actually had five smarts sitting on the lot, while I couldn't even get anybody to… Continue

By chance I stopped into the smart dealership in Bloomington, Minnesota to ask some questions and remind myself of what a great little car this is. The charming manager told me their 2008 demo model was available in a week's time! I could hardly wrap my head around my wait for this car going from 18 months to just a week! I thought it over and called the next day to say yes. It's the best quick decision I ever made. I've had my little smartie just over a week now and she's my automotive… Continue

The Cherry Hill dealer just called and told me that my SMART (Luna) was delivered this morning!! I am so excited! It was a complete surprise, because I hadn't even heard that she was on the way. I am picking her up tomorrow night!
It's extra-special because I am getting married this weekend, and all my friends and family who will be in town will get to check her out. I told them all I will take them for a ride - one at a time.
So far, I can say it was absolutely worth the… Continue

Lasty Friday while returning from Ft Worth a pick-up made a sharp right lane change while hitting their brakes and something large flew out of their open tailgate.
Buttercup lost her driver side blinker and a chunkfrom her left door. she also has deep scrapes from front to rear on the drivers side. Parts have been ordered from France.for shipment to DFW. This was the first misshap of the day, Later that day we found a stopped rental pick-up setting in front of us on the road and buttercup… Continue

In my last blog entry, The Sand Crab Theory, I explored the motives behind the reactions of friends and acquaintances to my decision to replace a perfectly fine, older Mercedes with a Smart Cabriolet. I’ve now been driving the car a couple of weeks, and while those reactions are no less interesting or entertaining, they are nowhere near as enlightening as the reactions I’ve had from people I don’t know. I think, quite simply, driving a Smart will eventually make one a better person. Don’t think… Continue

I'm not really one to post blogs, but I picked up my Smart last month from the Smart Center in White Plains, NY. I have purchased many cars over the years and this was by far the best experience ever!!! (never thought I'd say that about buying a car) I decided to take an orphan rather than wait. I'm glad I did, what an amazing car. I didn't pay anymore than I would have if I waited for my reservation. I understand Ray Catena owns the dealership as well as hi-line dealerships and his reputation… Continue

I am a proud owner of a passion since April of this year, and I love it! This past sunday the "check engine" light came on and naturally I got very worried. After checking all the fluids and such, I gave up and called in the smart usa hot line. They asked that I double check that the gas cap is on tightly as that will at times trigger the engine light to come on. To my disappointment it was not that, the light did not turn off and I had to drive 100 miles for the dealer to… Continue
