Sears Christmas Commercial

I just saw a Sears commercial on the tube. The elf arrives at the store in a red fortwo with a tiny trailer. Also, one of the sign magazines we get at Fastsigns had photos of recent wrap jobs. Two of the winners were fortwo's. I love our little one!

Squirelly Raccoon

Headed up Hwy.287N. in Taxas at about 3:45am on Nov. 17th I ran across a raccoon that acted more like a squirrell. As I was coming up on a large shaddow that was crossing the road up ahead about 200 yards or so,I realized that it was indeed a raccoon and the largest one that I had ever seen in person other than on T.V. As I was slowing down to the posted speed limit of 35 mph and about 50ft. from him, the sharp projection angle of the headlamps startle'd him and he did a 180 and then darted… Continue

gas gauge issue

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, can you suggest a cure?

Sometimes when I fill up my smartcar the gas gauge only rises to the 3/4 full point. I know from the number of gallons that I filled the tank (and no, I don't top off). On top of that, sometimes the next morning the gauge will jump to full.

20k service

Recently had my 20k service performed. As with 10k service, it went exceedingly smooth. About 80 mins and $208.50 and I was on the road again. I love this place.

Distance and Headlights

As many of us smart drivers know we seem to be treated a little differently on the roads. i.e. pulling out infront of us causing us to hit the brakes harder then we want or having to cut over to the next lane. Yeah you know what im talking about. Im sure most of us may flash the head lights or honk the horn to let them know what they have done, maybe have shaken a fist or two. Today a customer brought up the fact that the headlights are more narrow then a "normal size" car, making it seem that… Continue

It is... the tiniest of cars.

Howdy, everyone. For my birthday this year, my wife and I decided to trade my old Chevy Tahoe in for something a little more fuel efficient. Living in Boulder, we'd seen the Smart about, and wondered if it was a little kit car that folks were putting together in the area.

Then a couple of weeks ago, there was a little black Smart sitting in the food court of the Flatirons Mall, with a station next to it where you could give them your information and enter a raffle to win the car.… Continue

Transmission Replaced

If you recall, we had shifting issues right after the clutch was replaced back in October, well, now the transmission was replaced. The good news is Smart paid for it even with our car having over 23,000 miles on the odometer. Still love the car, still having fun, enjoy the 40 plus miles to the gallon; even when i drive 80 MPH on my daily 140 mile round trip comute!

Leaking Rear Hatch

Well, I'm back again with some more news. It has rained here for awhile now and I got off from work on a Friday 3 weeks ago and noticed my windows had moisture on all of them, then I got in and looked in my rear view mirror and seen water dripping inside my car. I checked the carpet and it was soaked. They couldn't get me in until Monday. So I went in and they told me a needed a new hatch. I said okay and then they told me 1 week and they drilled a hole in it so the moisture and smell would go… Continue

Could it be that a reviewer actually "gets it"?

I found this article noted in the forums of Smart Car of America. The article is in a magazine named Winding Road. The interface to the magazine isn't very easy to work but when you go to the website in the upper middle section named Featured there is an article called "HONDA FIT VS. SMART FORTWO" click on that to go to the article. When ready to turn the page use the blue arrows at the very top of the page to navigate. If you see an advertisement just click the arrow again to go to the… Continue

Flapping noise with convertible top

The day I picked up my new cabriolet, I noticed a flapping noise at the upper rear corner on the passenger side of the vehicle at highway speeds. I have brought the vehicle back to the the place of purchase. They have attempted twice to correct the problem by tightening the "tension strings" but to no success. I still have the same noise, a little less at best. I am waiting for the dealer to call me back when they have a loaner vehicle so that I may bring it back to them to see if they are able… Continue
