I’m Julia Knittel, and over the past year I have been working on a new project called “smart cities,” which tests out some new things for smart in various cities around the world.
First of all, what is the smart cities project? The Head of smart global, Dr. Annette Winkler, was inspired when she noticed that certain cities around the world (think of Paris and Rome, for example) had overwhelmingly adopted smart into their culture, to the extent that she often saw…Continue

Hello Insiders! It’s been quite a while since I contributed to “The Scoop.” For many of us, spring has not only come in like a lion, but it’s going out like one too. For smart however, March overall has been and is continuing to be a lion, but for all good reasons.

It is around 20 miles from big city life except when about 1000 bicycler arrive on Thursdays in the summer to have a good time and commraderie. I don't usually post on forums but…Continue
The verdict is in, the short term solution to long range EV's is not in advancing battery technologies. What most don't realize is the advent of EV's in broad markets can be a double edge sword ready to cut EV production at it's inception. The problem? limited battery run times are not expected to allow the EV to compete with combustion engine drive ranges any time soon. The solution? Industry must look beyond evolving the battery; a slow and unpredictable route for EV's. If we are to see a…Continue
