Freeway collision...

I got rear ended in my Smart on the freeway on Friday. Traffic was slowing down; I took my foot off the gas pedal, looked in the rear view mirror and saw the Toyota Sienna also slowed down behind me. All of a sudden the van behind me accelerated and hit me at 40 - 50 mph; driver behind me must have stepped on the wrong pedal. Cheap Insurance

I put this in forums but it didn't get much notice. I thought it was significant enough to repeat here.



I read on MSN Money that the smart4two defies conventional wisdom by being one of the cheapest cars in America to insure. According to MSNM you might think that because of its size the smart would be regularly totalled in acidents, but in fact collision claims are low (as we already knew from first hand accounts at www.safeandsmart.com).

Road accidents with the smarts

I have been reading blogs and forums and I have discovered that there have already been some members that have had accidents while driving their smarts. It would be interesting to hear these stories: how the accident happened; the other car that was involved; the damage to each; and any injuries. Thus far I've only read of a couple collisions and the smart performed as designed and took the worst upon itself and the passengers at worst received a few bruises.
