I am coming up on the two month anniversary of driving my smart car. Should celebrate the occasion, like a junior high school romance.

What seems strange to my Friends That Drive BIG Cars (FTDBC) is that, I have to say, that this is one of the best cars I have ever owned. Come on, are you kidding? Nope.

Are drivers deliberately trying to pass your smart, too?

It's probably my imagination, but I'd swear that when drivers of SUVs or hot cars get a glimpse of my white smart they speed up and try to find a way to pass me.

The other day, a young kid literally pulled up next to me on Onondaga Hill, half of the passenger's side of his car was missing, he looked at me, put pedal to the medal, burned rubber, and I assume exceeded the 40 mph speed limit, and left me behind for 100 feet until he found himself behind a line of cars.

Smart Snow in Upstate NY (February 2009)

Yeah, I know that this was intended to be a Williamsburg, VA car, but we needed a vehicle, and the right orphan was available in Albany, NY.

For the past week, we have been driving the Smart ForTwo around the Syracuse, NY area, where we currently live. We are situated about 1500 feet above sea level. To visit us, is literally like driving straight up a hill.
