I am wandering haw much you guys are paying for insurance? I am charge with $480 for 6 months and I believe it is a ripoff. At the beginning the insurance agent has no clue which category to put my Smart on, and I believe the insurance charged me that much.
I forget to mentioned I am in California and many of the Insurance Co. some of you mention I never heard about. But I got the idea. I am paying to much. My Smart has lo jack, and I have discount for multi cars also. I will mention the 2009 five star crash test rating also. I need to look for another Insurance. Thank you so much for your fast reply.

If you want to change your car insurance company just shop online for car insurance quotes and compare to save more money. Don't stay with the same company unless they give you discounts or you ask them what are the benefits of staying in the program if you're not satisfied look for another one.

I have USAA as well, but mine is closer to $400 for 6 months.

Lots of things are factors in cost. Where you live, the company's knowledge of the car, your credit, your driving history, your age, marital status, etc, etc, etc.

I have state farm in florida and with a 2 car discount, and just turning 50 I pay 758.00 per year, it could be less if I wanted to raise my deductables, I have a zero deductable on collision

I'm 22 and pay $118/mo in the city of Chicago through Liberty. I have $1000 deduct. It would have only been $88/mo but I dinged an Audi this past summer with my previous car :(
I've been in two accidents with my Smart (neither my fault) and have dealt with both State Farm and Liberty and they were both very fast and had great customer service. I believe State Farm is expensive though.
