Day 4:

Today, I started at 6 am - early shift. When you have the chance to get insights into production, I think it is very important to work both shifts. Normal workers also switch shifts every week – meaning one week late shift, one week early shift. Thus, I adjusted my schedule to their rhythm.

After quality checks and headlights installation last week, I put together the flat-tire-set today. As you probably know, a smart has a repair set for tires which is located below the co-drivers floor mat.  In addition to the repair set, you can also find the towing hook as well as the battery there. So how did I do that? I picked the towing hook and the tire pump and put it into the box. The box was installed in the car. After that was done, the floor mats were put over the floor and fixed with little screws. Done.

Unfortunately I don’t have pictures from this station however I just upload you some other pics:

Station: Installation of seats

As I worked early shift today, I had the chance to try the lunch menu at the cafeteria. At the cafeteria you can choose between different meals and salad. As we are in France you can also find small cheese plates, dessert and other goodies. Lunch ends with a small black coffee, unfortunately without milk. I learned that this is typical French; they don’t need milk for coffee.

Today, I want to present you another video. As I had the chance to see more stations on Monday, I would like to share that with you. Here, I upload another video with pictures live from Hambach. It shows the windshield and the roof installation. Here, workers are supported by robots. It is very interesting to see how it works, so click here to find it out.

These videos are great Lena. Could you make them a little bit longer?  Perhaps 2 minutes or so?

Thanks

Another great blog post; thanks for the photos and videos.  Did you have a chance to see the plastic roof being attached to the coupe models?
