I drove SunnyD up the Sandia Mountain (ABQ NM) Sat. It's pretty steep in places for a small car. I had ordered hilll assist, and it worked so well, I was passing SUVs, cars, and trucks. I was amazed. I've never owned a car that could do that. Once again, people were waving. I was questioned everywhere I went. I had a blast.

I am confused also by the "Hill Assist". Is it an option or the roll-back feature on all of the cars? I am heading to the hills soon and am trying to gather all of the information I can.

Actually: The hill assist is supposed to help starting from a stand still on an uphill slope and it does so quite well. I have driven Lewis H all over the Rockies (in fact, I am back up in Leadville this weekend - 10,200 ft) and the smart definitely has enough power to keep up and pass many other vehicles. It does require some manual shifting on longer uphills.
