Guess What!!!! I just had to pick up my teeth when I got the price of a Full Service Oil change!!!!!Needless to say I think that $260.00 is a little steep. My bank account is not happy. Apparently when you say full service they will check your tires & breaks, Lights, belts etc. So, my understanding is that for the $260.00 I can now feel good that my car is ready to travel again.

MB will also offer you Nitro (for a fee) in your tires to hold the pressure

Hey folks, you bought a Mercedes product and didn't expect high maintenance cost? We have two full sized MB's and their service intervals are 13K miles. They alternately cost around $350 ('A' level) and $700
('B' level) but you know everything imaginable has been checked. Let's hope the Smart Car service techs have been Mercedes trained and certified so that the same level of confidence would apply to their work. I'd opt for a MB dealer for service and am going to check with mine to see if they'll do the work. They are only half the distance our Smart dealer is. When it comes to cars, preventative maintenance eventually pays dividends. There's nothing better than trouble free driving. My big concern is a flat so I put a compressed air tire repair kit in my tailgate storage area. 'Gotta' remember these are not run flat tires. BTW, keep a check on your tire pressure, if they run low, like mine have done, it will affect your gas mileage. A good tire guage is a worthy investment.

when I had my car in for service to correct the gear shift sticking in reverse i clicked off the option to get an oil change. (it has 4300 miles on it since march 2008. a mechanic friend of mine said, oh get it changed at 3000 miles since the engine is new. and I said, the service tech said 10,000 miles. of course the mechanic friend thought that was too long to wait. but to make a long story short, The Smart Car service tech called me back and said, we are not going to change it now, not until the recommended 10,000 miles. which I was impressed with. other dealers would have changed it to charge you the money. My dealer is Mercedes/Smart of Cherry Hill NJ.

Hurricane Hanna was coming up the east coast so my little car was bouncing all over the road. I had to take the day off to drive 2 1/2 hours to my dealership, wait for 4 hours while they preformed this miracle called changing the oil. And then, they did not complete the maintance booklet. I'm going to educate myself on maintaining my car. Maybe that members that are machinical can teach the rest of us. I understand that a Mitsubishi oil filter and synthetic motor oil is all we need.
Whenever you go in for you maintance, do check before you have the A/C filter replaced ($60.00 for a charcoal filter). I asked "Why would an A/C filter have to be replaced @ 4 months?" Because it needs it. What kind of answer is that?
Needless to say I am very disappointed in the cost of maintaining our Smarts.
I fully believe this is price gouging!!!!

my dealership went out of there way to tell me how easy it is to change the oil and even showed me where the oil filter is. they didn't say anyting about warrenttee problems just keep your reciet for the filter and the sevrvice

I agree that is way too much for an oil change. My issue is that it is a 5 hour drive to the Smart dealership....so it will take a whole day plus the extra miles.
I understand that you have to take it to authorized dealer, Mercedes or Smart, for that or there are warrranty issues.

My understanding is that they do several things, not just oil. Did they itemize it for you? I will do mine myself or Walmart will if I can get a filter.

It is high in price, but at least we don't have to do until every 10,000 miles.
