I was at a soccer game on Sunday. In the parking lot to my left was empty parking spaces, to my right was a SUV, sidewalk in the front. After the game I was about to leave, there was another car blocking me perpendicularly, the driver was talking to the guy loading up his SUV next to me. There was about 3 feet of space to the front of my Smart, 2 feet in the back to the car that was blocking me. Since there was room, I started backing up about another foot or so. Then I heard the other guys in the parking lot started yelling, and the guy in the car that was blocking me honking...they thought I was going to back up and hit that other car. I had enough room to manuver out of that spot through the empty parking spot on the left, with only 1 turn. Their mouth dropped in disbelief!!!

I was a the Home Depot close to my home, and had my father with me. I parked next to a huge post in the parking garage that many cars would need to struggle to park near. I was able to whip in that space no sweat. My favorite pakring scenario is when im in Downtown Washington DC and i get my little guy in a metered space, and then see that i have a ton of room in front of me, and know that i was able to get in that space with little effort. The best part is all the looks i get from the passers by.

Funny story. What fascinates me is that the driver blocking you felt he needed to warn you when you started backing up. Apparently he knew you were there, but didn't feel the urge to move out of the way. Serves him right :-). t.
