I live in Chgo, got my Smart in July, & I am planning on getting snow tires from Tiretrac and having NTB put them on. I am so used to front wheel drive and alittle nervous about the Smart in snow. I am holding off selling my PT Cruiser for that reason.

Got my smartie in Feb., with just a little Chicago winter left last year, but she handled great. Just remember to get the feel of rear-wheel drive again if you have been driving front-wheel. It helps that the engine is over the rear tires, but the suggestion of extra weight might help too.

My Smart did extremely well up here in the Maine snow...
Might want to get a 50 pound bag of sand or something to put in the rear...
Just for a little bit more weight for traction....and winter tires.
That's all I did... I got my SMART in February 2008

But she does great on unplowed snow of LESS than a foot...

She handles GREAT on icy roads.

Don't worry, drive your SMART, smartly and take your time.... NO WORRIES !

Now enjoy... They are so much fun......

and forget about tire chains.... they can damage your car !
