The TSBVI and CenTex smart Club Braille Rallye was a grand success!

We had 16 smart cars and their families show up for the event. They did a quick background check, signed in and awaited their navigators.

While waiting for the start of the race navigators and their families from the school's Parent Weekend got to check out the smart cars! Lots of questions of course, curious looks, and cries of "I want one" were heard.

Two other non-smart cars where used. A Prius was needed for the 2 young ladies who are deaf and blind so they could ride with an interpreter and the school arranged for a 4-Runner to take a couple of students in wheel chairs that wanted to be a team. A local reported stayed all day and even rode with the Prius team.

All the driver's were given a TSBVI Wildcat t-shirt and a Touch Life bracelet!

Teams were required to complete a physical or non-physical activity (their choice) at each of the 3 check points before receiving their next set of Braille directions to complete the course. They had a great time and some drivers have expressed interest in volunteering at the school.

You are all WINNERS but The Oscar goes too...

1st place - Barbara and navigator (Krista, not pictured)
2nd place - Nathan and navigator (Amy)
3rd place - Nicholas and navigator (Mariah)

Let the BRAGGING begin!

Great job and congrats my friends!

That's great. Sounds like all had fun. Seems like a rewarding way to spend a day too.
