Oh no, Oh no - it's off for service I go...

Much to my dismay, the check engine light came on last night when I got in my SMART after work. The ONLY good news is that I have been trying to get my floor mats, so I guess I will pick them up while I am there. I am somewhat hopeful, since most of the posts for the check engine light (in the NUTS & BOLTS forum) are very similar to my experience - 1000 to 1500 miles on the car, take it to the dealer, 10-minute fix. Please, oh please, let it be that simple.
I am also happy to discover that the Edison SMART center is closer to my current 'home' than Cherry Hill, so that will save 1/2 hour each way.

A picture I just found on my phone of the night I picked up Luna (my SMART). There were scads of SMARTS - they had just gotten a delivery. It looks like she's saying good-bye to all of her travelling companions.

Me too! I picked up Oliver on Saturday, and on Monday the airbag warning light came on. I had to take him back to the dealership after putting only 295 miles on...sigh. But the good news: it was just a faulty sensor in the seat belt, which they will replace this coming Monday. And even better news: my custom floor mats are also in. Now if only my plates would arrive so I can pick up my custom plates (mine will say 'BKSMRT' because I'm a librarian), then Xmas will be perfect!
