The area received 9" of fresh snow during the morning, stopping about 1:30pm. After cleaning off the driveway and letting the plows clear the street I ventured out in my Cabrio about 5pm. I encountered some pretty deep snow at intersections and in shopping center parking lots, but my Smart cruised right through it. It was nice to finally experience the traction control system first-hand. It took a couple of times to realize that was what was happening when, while going through 6+" of slushy snow, the car seemed to slow and no matter how much I pressed the gas pedal, the wheels did not spin, but it continued forward at a slow and steady pace. I love it. Another of the reasons this car is called a Smart.

Curious to know if any of you have snow tires and/or chains. I haven't ventured out yet because we live on a hill in Seattle, but am thinking I need to go to the grocery store. Are snow tires any help?

LOL...Yes, that flashing triangle can be distracting. I bet you'll learn to tune it out.

One problem that I have Smart doesnt always fit in the ruts left by the big I drive with one tire in a rut and one alittle up the edge of another. Took a while to get used to, I kept feeling like I was going to tip over... plus the flashing yellow triangle on the dash kept distracting and scaring me, I know I wasnt in full traction and it made me more nervous to see the triangle flash...I wanted to put a piece of duck tape over the icon so I couldnt see it
