Anyone else finding excuses to go for a drive?

I’ve had my ’09 for about a month and a half now and I still find myself thinking of excuses to go for a drive, taking the long way home, and regret when I finally pull onto the last stretch home. I've never experienced this with any other car that I've owned and find it odd. For those still waiting for delivery be prepared.

My expensive neglected SUV has started taking anti-depressants and is threatening to run away, I keep the gas low in the tank so it can’t go far.

Yes! I find that every trip is like an adventure in a way. I look forward to each encounter. It is simply not possible to be uninvolved when you drive a smart. There are so few cars like this.

Yep, same here. It's fun. Not 400 miles, yet. I went to the gas station the other night, and I still had a quarter of a tank.

Isn't the feeling great? My F150 SuperCrew sits in the drive waiting to pull the RV, the Lost Skate has been my daily driver for over 6 still gets all kinds of looks too. Some fun numbers to ponder... The F150 monthly fuel bill was $400.00. The payment on the Skate, insurance, and gas, I spend $300.00 a month... Creeping up on 10k miles now and it's my favourite car to drive!

I don't think we are saving any gas with the smart car, the whole family keeps coming up with excuses to go somewhere in her. The other day our family was driving in the Volvo, and our youngest (4 yrs) goes.... 'hey Mom, let's drop off the others at home and you and I go get some ice cream... in the smart car!?' Now there's a classic win-win!

I have the exact same feelings, and that's after 2700 miles in almost 2 months. Still love driving my passion with its "IBSMRTR" plate. I drove a Jeep Wrangler for 11 years, love that vehicle, and now it sits in the garage (and has for 2 months). Alas, one day soon it'll be 90 degrees in Phoenix and I'll have a reason to cruise around in the Wrangler (until is gets hot, like 110).
