Took my baby for her first check up today. Found out their was 5 recalls. I haven't got any in the mail. Have any of you gotton recall for their 2008 Smart.

I think for the larger battery the car must have the comfort package and/or the alarm. But you can call any dealer and give them your vin number and they'll tell you exactly what needs to be done. - sheureka

I'm certainly interested in the larger battery! The charger is on mine at the moment, for she has gone dead on me. I think it is the short work trips I make, but with less than 1100 miles on a car, I don't expect to find a dead battery on a daily driven car.
This is the first problem I've had with zippy.

I have gotten no mail notices for anything for the car. I did get the full monty 2.0 update, larger battery, sticker and manual in about 2.5 hrs at the dealer. It improves the car, but not drastically. More of a refinement. That is why it is not called a recall. It was free.

All the below comments apply.... I would just check with your local [or originall selling] SMART center to make sure they have your correct/current e-dress "on file". Mine had a simple typing error.

The letter I got from smart usa calls it "smart 2.0 Check Up". Besides the 4 items Fred listed above, there is also a replacement for the sun shade that was available at least 6-8 months ago.

Smart is being very pro-active, IMO.

I took my car in for the transmission upgrade and came home with that done, a new bigger battery,a new vin sticker as the old one was easy to get off and a new owners manual. No cost to me at all and they had my car for about 4 hours.

These are NOT "recalls"...They are "technical service bulletins"...Smart was relatively "PERFECTED" in Europe before being imported to the USA...It promises to be the most problem free car you have ever bought...

I got a phone call last week from smart center Boston. I brought the car in today. The 'recalls' are: 1) a new battery, 2) a software upgrade for the transmission, 3) a new emissions sticker to match the new software, 4) a new operators manual. There was no charge.
