I have the red/ black Smart Car. Has anyone had a problem with the black trim fading (door handle, mirrors, ect)? I have only had my Smart for 3 weeks. Sure will be a big disapointment if it continues to fade.

I too have seen this happening on my smart car I recommend a product called "Mothers" Back to Black it's a automotive trim care product made just for these kinds of problems (soap residue, wax, oxidation) p.s. I should know I'm in the auto parts business!

I had this too. A good cleaning with a toothbrush and soupy water cures this.

There are several types of auto products out for the black parts of the car , bumper and other places.
I have about 12,000 miles on my Smart and am just waiting for Spring to reach Wyoming so I can clean the black parts. a lot of tire shine products also work very well on the black plastic on the car.
