I belong!
I have been inducted. I am One of the few. The proud. The smart.
I was heading towards the freeway; he had just gotten off. We saw each other from a distance - two cars, identical in colour and model. Our roofs were both up; it looked like rain. As he passed me he flashed me a peace sign. I jumped up and down in my seat and waved excitedly back at him.
A fellow smart car driver on the road. I've heard they are out there but had not seen one. Until today.
A coworker (the one who put me onto the smart car in the first place) had told me that by driving a smart car I was also becoming a member of a growing but still small and close-knit community, and she had informed me there's apparently an unspoken etiquette involved when you see another smart car driver on the road. I think I might have been slightly off-etiquette with my dorky, excited, spastic wave in response to his cool peace sign, but I'm a newbie. I'm sure I'll be forgiven.
Next time, I'll go with the classic "thumbs up". Smoooooth. that's me.

I live in Seattle, South Lake Union area, I have lost track of how many other smarts I've seen. Two weeks ago I saw two about 2 blocks apart from each other in upper Queen Anne. I think I've seen at least 15 different smarts. I'm still trying to get and exact count for the South Lake Union area. I know there are at least 6.

Me too! I saw my first smart yesterday (6-25-08) parked at a local train station, but no owner in sight. I left a note on the windshield. This morning (6-26-08) while driving, the same smart pasted me. I made a u-turn and followed him to the train station. We met and talked. My note was still under the wiper blade. I pointed it out and we had a good laugh. He was unaware of this web site so I gave him the address and we exchanged emails. Oh, get this. He was rear ended already. Only the plastic panel was damaged and replaced. Strong little smart.

I've had Domo since April, and only seen one smart. I think I made the car rock with my jubilation. The passion owner was much more reserved. Ah, I'm a dork.

Don't worry I had the same reaction when I passed my first Smartie in mine I was waving out the window like a freak.
I like the peace sign but love the thumbs up that seems to be the sign everyone uses when acknowledging our Smarties.
