Belive it or not I don't know how to do this!! Can anyone give me a quick lesson? I want to refill the washer fluid.

THX, Wanda

..am reading the responses tonight 6/16. Thank you for the directions! I did find a pdf file with tech specs showing a picture of the hood open but the directions below are much clearer. I am fairly close to the dealer/service so I do think I will make an appt to have them show me how to do this. Basically the car pickup was handing me the keys. I should have asked for more but not having had a car for a few yrs I had forgotten some of the basic car caretaking details.even though the hood thing seems pretty basic. I think I was expecting a release button on the inside.....less than 1,000 miles on my smart so still a lot to learn thx again! w

thx JIm for that last piece! TODAY is my day to learn how to do this.

bad example: don't think it's that it's been a year. Picked my Brabus up two almost 2 months ago, and they did an entire walkthrough from top to bottom pretty much. Even showed me how to get to the headlights easily.

Wanda- The last part is that the hood lifts off and issecured by a nylon web strap. It slides toward you and then you lower it down. It doesn't lift up the way other hoods do- there are no hinges or supports.

to elaborate a bit more.... those two levers are blended in with the grill. You'll notice a kind of rounded out hole where the levers start, and you should see the line going across the square pattern. You'd put one finger (usually your thumb) into the hole at the end of the lever facing each other, and press the other end in towards the car while pulling on the other end.

It might even be wise to have your dealer show you how to do it if they're relatively close..... because getting the hood on is a bit more difficult than getting it off. My dealer wouldn't even move on to the next little tidbit of info during the introduction to the car until i was able to take the hood off and at least put it back on once. Odd that they didn't go over all that stuff when you picked the car up.
