I just can't help it, I pull a U-Turn when I leave my office everyday...Does anyone else do this, and has anyone gotten a ticket for it? It's just too small for a 3Point turn, so my turn has a curve.

In our neck of the woods, it is called "Bang a Uey" and the "smaht cah" does it like none other.

I am beginning to think my Smart could do a U-turn on the sidewalk....

If the wife's van isn't in the garage I often drive into it nose first and do a 2.4 turn. I say 2.4 because I can't quite make a complete U-turn in the garage but don't need to perform a full 3-point turn. If the garage was four inches wider I'd be able to complete a U'ee. So I tell everyone I don't need to do a full 3-point turn, only a 2.4 turn. So I guess you might say my four-two can do a 2-4. 10-4?

The town where I take lessons after work has parallel parking on both sides of the street. I come into town, park on my side of the street, and then need to go back out the way I came. It seems to be acceptable in this town, so I do a U-turn out of my space just about every time. No backing up required!

I make U-turns frequently. As a matter of fact, I haven't made a 3-point turn since I bought the car.

i don't find many instances where i may have to do a quickie U-turn..... except for maybe if i'm parked in one of the front spaces at a store, and i'm facing the opposite direction of the exit. I'll just back up a tad to get a bit of extra clearance from the car in front of me, crank the wheel to one side, and just go.

But yeah.... it does come in handy being so tiny.

I have a variation on your theme. My driveway is on a street that is pretty busy when I am coming home from work so I can't stop and back up the driveway. So, I pull into the driveway, go to the back and do a three point turn so that I am facing the way I want. Why, you might ask? Because I can LOL!

No tickets so far but the car will easily U-turn on most streets. Another reason for other drivers to marvel at this car.
