I have a motor home and was looking for a trailer . I have now bought one . Thanks for all your help finding one . I now need a way to tie the car down to the trailer ,I know I can use tie down straps on the wheels . What I would like to do ,is buy 2 eye hooks ,that screw into the car frame (one front &1 at the rear )
I know I can buy them from Smart, but the cost is just too high . Does anyone know where I can buy after market eye hooks that will screw into the car frame . Thanks Ed

I would not secure the car by the tow hooks, use straps through the wheels(all4). let the car's
suspension work while being trailered. This works really well.

The company where we bought our trailor from also furnished us with tie downs that go over the 4 tires, very easy to use and we really like them.

I would be cautious about using the tow hooks that thread into the bumpers. I have heard they are not that strong for the long haul but work good for the occasional pull out of the ditch. When they towed my Smart, they used a chain under the front of the car and said it was a lot more durable. I assume there is a spot they used when transporting the car that would work much better. The straps that go over the wheels (like a net) would seem to be the easiest to put on.

I believe some of the smart car places sell a similar unit. AS I recall, they fold down and are colored to match the car. I have seen them on Ebay I just don't recall what company makes them.

Just bought two of those eye hooks from the dealer today. They were about $25 ea. Looks like they are some type of special thread. I have been looking for a while and not found any that are that much cheaper and at least I can be sure these are the proper thread,
