Anyone have luck selling the car?

I don't want to violate the terms of this website, I just was wondering if anyone has had luck selling their car. I am distraught with the price the dealer has quoted. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

If you are buying one, plan on keeping it for awhile. They depreciate really quick!

Got an offer, and it's way better than Carmax. I will lose $4000, instead of $6000 with Carmax. What a relief. Am going to miss this car though. Thanks for the advice.

When I upgraded my blue/silver tridian coupe to the red/black tridian cabriolet, I lost $3500 in depreciation after only two months of ownership.

Cars as investments really do depreciate quickly. Cars as transportation, when maintained, are actually quite affordable new provided you keep them 10 years. When I took my smart delivery, it was almost 11 years to the day after I took delivery of my 1998 Jeep Wrangler. Still have both, but the smart car is such a great commuter that it gets all of the miles.

I have always bought new cars and kept them for 10 years. No plans to change with my smart. It's so cheap to own, drive, insure and fun to boot.

Todd as just have to say. Ditto!

Don't feel too distraught I bought a new loaded 2008 Prius every option available except leather seats. (You can't get seat warmers so I chose cloth.) I checked barely a year later and it depreciated nearly $10,000. I was only curious about its depreciation, but was shocked by the value. It's a good thing I am keeping it for a long time. When I finally buy my smart I intend to keep it until the wheels fall off. ;^)

Well.... that's one of the reasons I never bought a new car before. All new cars depreciate the second you drive off the lot.

After years and years and years of buying used cars (with great good luck, I might add), the Smart Car steered me away from good sense. And I have absolutely no regrets!!
