Almost 5  months ago, I ordered a 2011 Smart Cabriolet.  There are several new options available, including cruise control, an arm rest, new radio with built in GPS, surround sound, ambient lighting and an arm rest.  The rain sensor which was standard on my 2009 is also optional.  Since it was a special order with most of the options, the delivery time is estimated at 5 months,

I as well heard the Electric version will be coming in limited numbers in the following year, as well will be displayed there next year. Id love to see the electric version for fun. No changes for 2010. Nav will be a dealer installed option. Smart has a deal with kenwood to offer 3 different Nav packages. Prices will very from dealer to dealer. Our Base Package will start at 1,500, and can be put on the 2008 and 2009 smarts as well.

Look for a cruise option for some smart editions in 2011.

Special edition yellow smart may be available sometime in 2010. Also a new matte green color may be available in 2010.

@Rob - Unlike that other guy, you are easy to please. Those Copper Metallic job look great

The electric is good, but I would settle for an armrest and a metallic copper color.

Just found this on FYI:

"smart is the producer of one of the most economical and environmentally-friendly vehicles sold anywhere in the world - the smart fortwo. smart continues its commitment to the environment with the introduction of the smart fortwo electric drive. This vehicle further demonstrates the pioneering role of the smart brand. As an electric vehicle, it is virtually emission-free, highly efficient and quiet. It represents sustainability at its highest level.

In 2007, smart initiated a pilot project in London, England, to test the smart fortwo electric drive. smart leased 100 electric smart fortwo vehicles to everyday commuters to gain real-world experience and determine the technology’s long-term sustainability. The project has proven to be very successful with customers giving very encouraging feedback.

The smart fortwo electric drive is expected in the United States in late 2010. The 2010 launch will be a pilot program in select cities and vehicle production will be limited. Series production is expected in calendar year 2012.

The smart fortwo electric drive series will be equipped with a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery. Lithium-ion technology has decisive advantages over other types of batteries, including its compact dimensions, high performance, shorter charging times and higher reliability.

The smart fortwo electric drive can be produced without the loss of passenger or cargo space. The drive motor replaces the engine and the battery fits in the space currently occupied by the fuel tank.

smart USA does not have information regarding battery range or vehicle price at this time.

smart USA is not taking reservations for the smart fortwo electric drive at this time nor do we have a waiting list. Please visit often for updates regarding the smart fortwo electric drive."

My italics and bolding.
