Can someone please tell me what the dash symbol that looks like a wrench means?

It might be better said that "your smart thinks it is overdue for a service."
I, for example, have always done my required services, and more, myself. Out of either incompetence at timing and pushing buttons, or sheer laziness, I just ignore little Munchkin's brief reminders when she first comes to life. I can read both the odometer and the calendar, and I know when services are required. I, for example, change the oil and oil filter every 5,000 miles, which does not fit into the 10,000 mile schedule nicely. Every time another 5,000 miles approaches rolling over on the odometer I know that a service approaches.
I must stress that I do not suggest that one ignore the little wrench(es) unless they religiously comply with the recommendations and they can trust themselves with following the book. I must also stress that doing the required services does not mean that one should not have his/her smart checked over by a knowledgeable, experienced and reliable smart mechanic, even at the cost of MB service charges.
2 wrenches are for the "big services, like 20K miles. You can reset them yourself; procedure is in the owners manual which you can download from the smart USA site if you don't have a printed version.
No it actually looks like 2 a little larger and a smaller one on top. I had the 10K, if I had to reset how can I do that myself? The Mercedes dealership is quite far.
Means your car is overdue a 10K service (if it's the single wrench.)
