Why did it have to be so hard for me to find information about an airfilter for my cabin? I read the posts. I did not even know I had an airfilter in the cabin.  Seeing the filter by my feet behind the brake and gas pedal is what showed me I had a filter.  I dont think it is moldy.  I live in Arizona and it is dry country here.  Just wondering if others that live in Az have any problems with mold. I already have COPD and do not need to add to my health problems because of a moldy air filter.  Does anyone know where to purchase these filters? Now that I know I will need one I will need to know how to get one.  Thanks for the help.

Hi Faline.  I live in Phoenix and go out to Chandler to get my Smart serviced.  You should check out there.  Their number is: (480) 421-4300. Talk with Kimberly Pinto. She is the Smart service lady there. Very helpful.  I noticed you posted your blog in May, almost a month ago.  I hope, for your sake, you were able to get an answer to your question, before me.  If not, I hope this info is helpful to you.

There is a fuel filter inside the tank but no need to change it.  Air filter, oil filter and cabin filter are the three DIY ones.  All are available from parts stores (plus the dealer) and can be changed by the owner:  http://owners.smartusa.com/Do_It_Yourself.aspx

I believe my smart is still under warrentee. I found a place in Chandler that I can call to find out about putting the filter back in where it came from and hopefully not have to pay a lot to do so.  Are there any more filters besides the cabin and pil that I need to know about.  Any input is good input.  Thanks.

More auto parts stores are carrying them (and other smart parts) now.  Several choices mentioned here:

In your case sticking with the charcoal filter is probably the way to go.
