Thanks for the reset info. We change the oil & filter and this is a big help.

This has worked for me.
Resetting The Blinking Wrench
On The smart fortwo

1. Turn the Ignition switch to on.

2. Double tap the left button/switch before the wrench begins to flash.

3. Turn the ignition switch off.

4. Push and hold the left button/switch.

5. Start the engine while holding the left button/switch down.

6. Hold the left button/switch down and the wrench should reset.
I buy the NAPA Gold Filter # 7040 or #1365. Be sure to clean the strainer on the drain plug before you put it back in. I have reused the copper washer for two oil changes and then buy more from the dealer.
