The more I drive our cabriolet Smart (purchased Oct 09), the more I like it. Our Smart is our only car. We are empty nesters, and the Smart's size is just right for my wife and I. When our son visits, or relatives visit, we rent a sedan for a few days. If we need to haul something, say garden supplies, we rent a pickup truck for the day. But let me tell you, the Smart is plenty big for the two of us, and it drives nicely, and the fuel economy is great. And, with a cabriolet and living in East Tennessee there is nothing better than putting the top down and heading up into the Smokey Mountains. We'll drive the Dragon, and the Cherohala Skyway, and have so much fun that the smiles stay on our faces for days. Two days ago we drove the logger and coal truck roads in the Cumberland Mountains (also close to our home) with the top down and the temps in the 50s. Life could not have been better! The scenery was spectacular, and we felt part of the environment, as opposed to merely passing through it. I've driven motorcycles for 20+ years, and indeed I commute to work on one, and the Smart comes awfully close to replicating all that is great about a ride on a bike. If the reliability is there, and we'll find that out, then I simply can't imagine a better car for us.

No flapping noise, just some road noise when traffic is on that side. When you ride a motorcycle as I do you tend not to notice such things.

The only "flapping" noise I get is from my wife in the passenger seat...

I love my smart cabriolet except for the "flapping" noise on the right rear passenger side at highway speeds. Do you experience this at all? Read my blog about this problem.
