We just finished a cross country trip from CT to AZ and back. The most valuable thing we had with us is a book (Roadfood, by Jane and Michael Stern, ISBN 978-0-7679-2829-8). This is the latest of their books. This book is a list of great places to eat along almost every roadway in the U.S. What this book offers is a list of mostly non-fast food places to eat at very reasonable prices. We found without exception that every place recommended was well worth the stop. Because the book lists some menu items, prices, address and phone numbers you will find that you know what you are getting into and how much it should cost. If you are tired of eating nothing but fast food at highway exits then this is a must have. Let the fun begin.
