Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with the SmartCar radio -- using too much battery. I have a Brabus and in July 2009 the car wouldn't start and turns out the battery was dead. Kept charging the battery and had to start the car every other day in order for the battery to be charged. We returned the car to the dealer a few times and dealer finally changed the battery. We again in December 2009 had the problem again. So we have now taken the car to a different dealer. This dealer now tells us that the radio is the problem. Anyone else out there with this issue?

The Brabus is now in the shop for a new radio. We'll see how that affects the problem. And, I always turn off the radio before turning off the car. Thanks for the comments.

When I purchased my Passion in May, 08, I was told by the dealer to make sure that I turned off the radio before I turned off the car.

it wouldn't be automatic wipers/lights. The Brabus was introduced in '09, i believe after they removed the auto wipers/lights altogether.

Does your Brabus have the auto wipers/headlights? That was known to kill batteries, and owners were apparently upgraded to larger batteries.
If it's a smart radio, and it's causing problems, perhaps the radio needs to be replaced. I haven't seen anyone complain about problems with the radio killing the battery.
