smart is proud to be featured alongside Mercedes-Benz at the 2014 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). The show, which opened on April 18th, offers car fans the chance to check out brand new models as well as get an exclusive sneak peek at what’s next on the horizon for the biggest names in the automotive industry.
smart came ready to impress, toting four different editions of our beloved car. The vehicle that garnished the most buzz was the latest addition to the smart family – the electric drive cabriolet. This particular cabriolet had a grey matte finish with design red fabric interior and slate gray tridion, complete with LED daytime running lights, heated seats and a leather steering wheel with recuperation paddles. Right in time for spring is the smart BRABUS tailor made coupe – a splashy, aquamarine show-stopper accented with a racing orange tridion, and a custom mandarin orange leather interior. Those with an eye for the subtle appreciated the BoConcept edition – a classic white smart accented with vibrant lemon yellow side mirrors and rich, tobacco brown seats with quilted inserts. Color Me Rad also got a shout-out via a custom wrapped smart electric drive that was covered in neon splotches of paint to celebrate smart's sponsorship of the 5K races. The final piece that capped off the display was the premiere of the smart ebike – an urban adventurer’s dream hybrid that employs an electric boost engine powered by manual pedaling, as well as a carbon belt drive, built in lights and a USB port to charge your phone on the go.
For New Yorkers interested in seeing all of these smart selections in person, have no fear! The Auto Show is open to the public through the 27th so there is still plenty of time to get behind the wheel of what could be your next smart.
