“It’s so hot out there.  I wish I could cool-off my car before I get into it.”  If you find yourself saying this a lot then the smart electric drive is for you.  The “Air conditioning before start” feature allows you to cool the interior of the vehicle before driving when it’s connected and charging with  120 or 240-volt connection.  You will also have the ability to set the departure time so your smart knows when to begin cooling-off up to 30-minutes prior to departure and up to 5 minutes after departure.  In the summer, it will use the center and side vents and in the winter use the windshield and side window vents. Cool or defrost, depending on how you set the manual controls on the HVAC. It’s all good.

Hi Mindy - Pre-conditional is available with both on the new car.

Does it really allow the pre-conditioning while plugged into 110V ? On my generation 2, the pre-conditioning only worked when plugged into the 240V charger.  That would be a smart update!! Thanks!  -Mindy
