Hello Insiders! It’s been quite a while since I contributed to “The Scoop.” For many of us, spring has not only come in like a lion, but it’s going out like one too. For smart however, March overall has been and is continuing to be a lion, but for all good reasons.
Sales of our current 451 chassis are strong and we’re on pace to crack 650 units sold for the month. The eBike is beginning to make its way to showrooms in Portland and San Francisco. We’re getting ready for the New York International Auto Show in April where we will once again be shoulder to shoulder with the Mercedes-Benz display which always gets a ton of foot traffic. We’ve also kicked-off our sponsorship of the Color Me Rad 5K races this past weekend and will make our way to over 50 cities when all is said and done. If that wasn’t news enough, I am excited to let you know we’ve kicked-off our newest smart electric drive campaign called “Electricurious.” As you’ve seen from posts across our digital and social channels, we’re targeting people who are curious about owning an electric car, but haven’t quite taken the leap yet. The smart electric drive is the most affordable EV on the market and we need to continue to tell this story. The smart electric drive has been available in CA, CT, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NY, RI and OR since May of last year. Now, as of March, it’s available for order across the U.S and we know this vehicle will bring even more smartsters to our growing family.
