Worst Experience @ dealership ever!! First Time Too!

Yesterday i went to the Smart Center in Fort Worth, TX. They opened at 8:30 and i got there at 9:30. The doors were open and there were people inside the Mercedes (SP) part of the dealership, but NO ONE in the whole Smart Building. There were about ten to twelve cars around the building. We looked at a few waiting for someone to come help us...but...no one came. After a little bit i walked in the building and it was deserted. I've only seen smart cars and peeked in the windows before yesterday. Yesterday was to be the day that i would get to drive one for the first time. I only got to crawl inside one because the black/black passion coupe had its windows down and i unlocked it from the inside. The key was there, but i thought it would be rude to start one up especially when no one was around and they might think i was stealing it. We left at 9:57 and still no one was there which leads me to think that maybe the store was closed, but the cars just haven't been taken away.

I was crushed that for my first time being at a dealership i still am not any closer to having one.

I am very upset with Smart USA and Smart Center Fort Worth for building up my expectations just to have them torn down.

I was shocked to hear of your experience in Ft Worth. I bought my car there the week they opened and had nothing but excellent service from them until I moved at the end of last year. I wish the dealerships here in CT could equal the service I got in Ft Worth. I hope things turn out better for you and that you us as a Smart owner. Truly a wonderful experience for most of us. I understand what you are saying, but George Johnson (GM) wasn't aware of your issue untill AFTER he sent the email out. If he knew about the issues you were having, he would have sent a different(personalized) email, or perhaps call you if he had your number. Please call me or email me soon, so we can do something to solve your issue. You can call our main number at (817)263-3600 and ask for George Johnson, or ask for the Smart dept. -Kevin

Well maybe the generic emails should differ a little if i'm not emailing to say what a fun time at the dealership i had and how nice the people at the dealership were and i was emailing to congratulate him on training such wonderful workers.

Maybe there should be one that said that he was sorry he manages such a sub par dealership.

Well, that email goes out automatically to every client who comes in/ shows interest in a car on our website. It’s great because it gives you a direct line of communication with our General Manger. Like I was saying before Kevin, email me or call me if you want to set up a time to test drive. Thanks!

My Name is Kevin, and I work at the Smart Center Fort Worth location. I wanted to apologize for not being here when you showed up on Friday morning. We recently lost our Dallas brand manager, and our Fort Worth brand Manager went to Dallas to fill in.
We are in the process of getting someone trained for the Smart Center, to help out for when I’m not there(mornings and all day Friday).We are open from 8:30- 6:00 p.m Monday thru Saturday. A few people that work for Mercedes dealership just walked right past me. They don't have good service either.

So, was there a reason you didn't go into the Mercedes section and ask if someone could help you in the smart section ? Maybe you should have started up the smart and gotten their attention...
