Hey Mel, so glad to hear from you. I think of you often, hoping that you are doing well. I did not go on the rally in August. Jim is working on a cruise for the fall. Either up to Duluth to see Jeff or Down his way toward Red Wing. I'll let you know when I hear anything.
A Great Dane could EAT the car. Drive around the block a few times first and see if he/she jumps out. I don't think it will happen. They are a very smart dog and will want to stay with you. But test it before going on the hiway. DON'T use a sheet. The hairs will just collect and fall off. Use a good old wool blanket so they stick. Let me know.
Oh, Mel, I'm so sorry that you lost Paige. You are living my worst nightmare. I'm afraid I sometimes take my wife for granted. She's asleep now, but after I read your comment, I went in and kissed her on the cheek. I don't know if it helps or not, but for what it's worth, I'll be thinking about you and hoping it gets better for you.
Hey Mel, I didn't get your note in my inbox. I didn't see you listed that you were coming to the dells so I popped here to your page to see you and found the note you left me. I am so sorry to hear about Paige. I had no idea. I can't imagine that kind of loss. You take care. I hope to see you again soon. I would be great to see you this weekend, but understand how hard it must be. ~julie
I have been watching EVERY game and don't know how I missed that commercial. Every year I TRY to beat my son with his brackets. He usually gets around 80% (So far he is at 78%) and 2 games up on me. I stil have shot but have only won once in 15 years. Now you know why I don't buy a lottery ticket.
This hasn't been a good year for me, Julie. As you know we had gotten 2 Smart cars and were having more darn fun than I can say. Then in early Dec. Paige found a lump under her left arm and immediately went to the doctor. The did a biposy and found it to malignant. she had no previous sytoms and even did the 60 mile walk for the cure in Sept. They did an MRI and found tht it had spread throughout her body. In the next two weeks she went from walking to a wheelchair and it really hit her hard. Paige died on Jan. 27, just 7 weeks from the time we found out. She really was the love of my life and it has not been easy. I have no idea what I will be doing in June and know that it would have been a blast for the both us. Give me time and I will let you know.
Know what you mean. I have decided against snow tires as last winter I tried driving a demo on a parking lot that a sheer sheet of ice and I COULDN'T spin it becasue of the traction control. I figure if there are 6-8 inches EVERYONE is goping to have trouble driving and I'll swithc for one day to my Continental. Then, once the plows go through, the roads will be fine again. Do not have static in the radio. The other car's plates say "WHEEEE". I think those are greatest of them all!! Will see you Friday.
Was told that putting extra weight in the back is a BAD move. It changes the balance of the weight on the wheels. MOst of the weight is now on the rear because the seat is almost over the rear axle. but adding another 80 pounds makes the front light. I got a box from Ikea tht is black and has velco on the bottom as a storage container and put most losse things in it (like milk or small items and it keep them from flipping from side to side).
I love the seat heaters! Especially the last few days. I have a Blue '99 Cadi (STR8 is the plate) as well, once I bought that car, I swore as long as I lived here, I would never have a car without seat heaters. The smart's heats higher on my back. LOVE IT! Radio seems to have static. Does yours? Did you get a vanity plate for the 2nd car? I'm still thinking on that. Have to have it, just can't decide. Yes I do plan on the Black Friday outing. Are you guys going? Would be great to meet you. Did you buy winter tires? I did not. My husband threw two bags of softener salt in the back. We've been on a mission for the last week to find a way to keep them in the back and not hitting me in the back. $99 for a shallow, black rubbermaid container at the dearler. I went to Target and bought a clear one. Stuck some velcro on the bottom and for $15 it seems to be ok. The test will be when the next person cuts me off on 35W.
He got his first washing on Sunday. I took it to the quarter wash (well it was a quarter when I was in HS) $2.75 now. It worked and no leaks!
He was just about out of gas this morning, so I drove "she" (the cadi) to work. O Husband of mine filled lil Luigi/Max (havent' decided yet) and then proceeded to put on another 80 miles. Good thing he thinks it's a clown car! lol Hate to see what he'd do if he really liked it.
It wasn't me on Hwy 100, I've been out of town for 2 weeks. Funny thing it had about 100 miles on it when I left and it has a few more than that now. I think the hubby likes it better than he thought he would. HaHa!
i'm picking up my passion orphan monday 11-17-08. just has normal radio. will yours actually sound better or is it just the 6 changer that would be the advantage. E-mail me about blue panels email@example.com
I guess evry dealership ahs different "toys". Haven't seen that at our dealership, but will ask. The lates they have is fancy caps for the stems in the tires for $14.95 witht he smart logo on them.
Been washing my car all summer myself (probalby takes all of 15 minutes) but now that the weather is starting to get cooler, I am wondering if anyone has run their car through one of the brushless car washes yet.
I bought the hood ornament, also bought one for the tail that goes around "smart", from the dealership. You can buy them online but it was actually a few $$ cheaper at the dealership. I also now have a new plate "2 SMART". I haven't posted the pictures but will do so soon.
There is absolutely nothing I would do differently. We've been having some beautiful sunny days here in Colorado after a bout of rainy, New England -type weather, and I've been cruising with the top down. Lovely. Banana Bean is truly fantastic. How are you feeling about itibiti?
Yes maam,I sure do. Based on what I saw you have me TOTALLY convinced ( even if you might have a little trouble convincing the police). Eithr way, fun stuff. Still loving the car? Would you do anything different if you did it again?
Hi. Thank you for your message. Our closest Smart Center is Omaha so we purchased the cars there on the same day. The staff is very nice.
In 1998 I was not sure how to get the attention of the Smart Car builders so I wrote an e-mail in French & in German but it took them quite some time to respond back in French. Their message stated that the Smart car was not currently marketed in the USA. Over the ten-year period I reiterated my offer but they never responded to me again. Nonetheless, I persisted & joined the SmartUsa.com mailing list.
The Smart cars are very fun. Enjoy!
